Death in the Orchid Garden
By Ann Ripley
This is the first book I have read by this author. Louise Eldridge hosts a garden show on PBS and is a sometimes sleuth. She is shooting her series in Hawaii where botanists are holding a convention. Her show is featuring three particular botanists, a commercial botanist trying to sell the latest greatest to gardeners everywhere, an ethanobotanist who is trying to find the latest in medicinal botanicals and a ecobotanist who is concerned with keeping plants in their native habitat only. One of the botanist is murdered and everyone has to stay in paradise while the investigation progresses. Suddenly everyone wants out of Eden. I found the book a little hard to get into at first but then couldn't wait to finish it. An enjoyable read.

Cozy Mystery Challenge # 3
Mystery # 3- The Hounds and the Fury
by Rita Mae Brown
While this is the 5th book in a series, it is my first book by this author. Sister Jane Arnold is the Master of Fox Hounds and also it appears the matriarch of this small community. In addition to a good mystery the book also explains traditions and customs of the foxhunt in an informative and interesting manner which adds to the book.

Cozy Mystery Challenge # 2
Mystery #2 - All's Well that Ends Well
by Gillian Roberts
Amanda Pepper is back unfortunately this is to be her farewell. Amanda's best friend's step-mother has died of an accidental death or a suicide, but Sasha thinks it is murder and wants Amanda to prove it. The story is entertaining and fast reading. The only problem with this book is that it is the last in the series.

Cozy Mystery Challenge #1
Well, I have started Kris's Cozy mystery challenge.
#1 - The Cat Who Had 60 Whiskers
by Lillian Jackson Braun
In the past I have loved the Cat Who series. This book was a major disappointment. When it ended on page 190 I truly wanted to know where the rest of the book was. The book solved nothing. Left unresolved were two arsons, one supposed natural death, and one alleged embezzler who left town. It was like the author reached her number of pages and just stopped even though she had not completed the story.
